BOTOX AND INJECTABLES

I feel strongly that even something as seemingly routine as Botox® and other cosmetic injectables should be performed by a physician, not by an esthetician, nurse, or assistant. Only a plastic surgeon knows exactly where these muscles are located that need to be injected, because we actually see them when performing brow lift and eyelid surgeries. I will personally administer your Botox® or fillers at no extra charge.

Botox® is a dilute agent that can paralyze the small facial muscles that give you wrinkles. It lasts for appx. 3 months, and can be repeated as needed. Botox® works great for the wrinkles between your eyebrows, and the forehead. Crow's feet may also be improved. Botox® may also be used in areas to control excessive sweating. Dysport® is another product with similar results to Botox®. The cost of Botox® and Dysport® is determined by the number of areas treated.

Restylane® is a longer-lasting
filler which is more like a gel, made from hyaluronic acid, a component of skin. This lasts for 6-9 months, and no skin test is required as allergic reactions are rare. This injectable is also mixed with a little lidocaine, a numbing agent, so there is less discomfort with injection. Juvederm® is a similar product but made by a different company. Perlane® is a product very similar to Restylane®, but with more cross-linking designed to work in the deeper lines of the face. Please call the office for current prices.

Botox®, Dysport®, Restylane®, and Perlane® have been found to be extremely
safe, with the main risk of bruising that can occur during any injection. Other risks will be explained.
